Alongside well-known energy storage start-ups such as ENERGYNEST from Norway and Highview Power from London, we are also among the first 10 energy storage start-ups from Europe in 2023.
We are very proud of this award, especially because we are the youngest company on this list and the only one from Germany.
But what about the issue of competition among storage technology manufacturers?
6 of the 10 companies are involved in battery technologies. There is some direct competition here, but there are also significant differences in size and application and therefore in the target group. In addition to the batteries and our Hypnetic-Storage, the list includes one pump, one liquid air and one thermal storage manufacturer.
The fascinating thing: There are more applications than technologies for energy storage systems. Between the battery cell in a cell phone and pumped storage in small town format, a diverse spectrum of possible applications is opening up – and growing all the time! Each technology has its strengths and weaknesses and therefore determines its own useful area of application. There is no such thing as a jack of all trades.
The fact is, the larger the storage technology pool, the better the various storage tasks for the energy transition can be mastered. We are therefore not only proud of the award, but also of being able to expand this technology pool!
